Boston-IA is an organization of web designers, information architects, information designers, usability specialists, content managers, visual designers, educators, technical communicators, and other internet professionals concerned about the usability and accessibility of electronic information.
What does IA stand for? It stands "Internet Accessibility", but it could also stand for "Information Accessibility".
We want to make Internet Accessibility mainstream. We believe that Internet Accessibility means making things available to people, and that Information Accessibility means making things clear.
Many people define Internet Accessibility exclusively as making information available for people with disabilities, but we believe that Internet Accessibility means that everyone can access and find the information they need.
"This is one of the better accessible sites I have seen."
"I am a webmaster for a Section 508 compliant government intranet and have reviewed over 700 sites linked to our intranet for 508 compliance since August 2001.
"You have avoided the common accessibility mistakes that appear even on other accessibility webs— Nice job!"

We believe in the principles of universal design, and we make every attempt to exclude no one. The same techniques that work for people who are disabled improve information delivery for everyone.
